Our Process
At Echols Roofing & Renovations, our exterior painting process is designed to deliver long-lasting results with professional care every step of the way.
Step 1: Schedule a Consultation
We’ll meet with you to inspect the property, talk through your goals, and provide a detailed project plan and estimate.
Step 2: Trim Repair
Any rotted or damaged trim is replaced based on your quote, ensuring a solid foundation for a clean finish.
Step 3: Surface Preparation
All surfaces are hand-sanded if needed for smoothness and prepped to help the paint adhere properly.
Step 4: Pressure Washing
The exterior is pressure-washed to remove dirt and debris, then allowed to dry fully before painting begins.
Step 5: Priming (if needed)
For bare surfaces or areas without existing paint, a high-quality primer is applied to ensure paint performance.
Step 6: Caulking
We apply premium caulk to seal gaps and protect your siding. A second round of caulking is included if needed.
Step 7: Paint Application
You can choose the paint. We often use Sherwin-Williams Super Paint (25-year warranty) or Duratex (lifetime warranty).
Step 8: Final Walkthrough
We review the completed work with you to make sure you’re fully satisfied.

Color Consultation
Choosing the right color for your home can be hard. That’s why Echols Roofing & Renovations is proud to provide our communities with the opportunity to schedule a color consultation with award-winning professional designer James Taggert. This consultation is provided to our customers free of charge on any project that exceeds $15,000 after a contract is signed. For smaller projects, there is a modest charge of $150 for the consultation. Unfortunately, James is not available to be of assistance in all of our service areas.

Can I schedule painting with other home updates?
Absolutely. We often combine painting with siding repair, roofing, and window replacement. The painting service will be added to the overall estimate of the project.
Do you offer touch-ups or maintenance?
Yes. We can return for touch-ups or help maintain your exterior finish over time. We can explain any future maintenance plans during your consultation.
How long does exterior paint last?
Most exterior paints last 7–10 years, depending on the surface and exposure. After a while, the paint may start to fade or peel, a clear sign that it’s time for a new coat.
